 Open Calls Network: Space for Digital and Industry

Now that summer is almost over, we look back at some of the key events that took place just before the holidays, in the Open Calls Network, and we look forward to new activities this autumn. The Open Calls Network was launched this spring by the Netherlands Space Office together with Groundstation.Space.

In this project we highlight pre-selected Horizon Europe and other funding calls that are relevant for space and space data applications. The Open Calls Network has a dedicated LinkedIn page, and organises a series of webinars.

In the second webinar of 2022 in June we focused on funding opportunities related to digital and industry.

“Digital and Industry” webinar

The ‘Space for Digital and Industry’ webinar focused on:

  • Presenting organisations and projects in one-minute pitches,
  • Finding relevant open funding calls for participating organisations,
  • Meeting potential consortium partners.

Raymond Sluiter, Senior Advisor data applications at the Netherlands Space Office, made an overview of Horizon Europe opportunities (watch below):

Then Gerard Rauwerda, Business Developer at Technolution, talked about the development of embedded Control & Data Processing electronics for smallsat instruments. He also highlighted the importance of the RISC-V open-standard processor and security protection:

Dr Andy Court, Principal Business Developer at TNO, covered the following topics in his presentation:
– Horizon Europe calls on Satcom, and quantum space activities;
– The Horizon Europe Space Partnership (Global Competitive Space Systems, GCSS) – purpose and status.

Andrei Bocin-Dumitriu of the dotSpace Foundation presented an overview of funding opportunities related to Digital and Industry:

The webinar ended with a one-minute pitch by a representative of Revolv Space:
