Join the Dutch Track of ShaktiSAT: Learn, Create, and Reach for the Moon

ShaktiSAT is an international mission that brings together education and space. It is led by Dr. Srimathy Kesan, founder of Space Kidz India, in collaboration with ISRO and Meridian Space Command in the UK. The goal is to launch a satellite into lunar orbit in 2026 while giving 12,000 girls from 108 countries the opportunity to learn and grow through space science.

Girls aged 14 to 19 can now register for this mission and follow a free online programme between June and November. The curriculum covers science, technology, engineering and mathematics, with an extra A for the arts. This STEAM approach helps students learn not only how satellites work, but also how culture and creativity play a role in space research.
In the Netherlands, the mission is supported by ambassador Pragya Jain. Together with a team of mentors, she helps shape a local track that includes both science and artistic workshops. The Dutch student selected to travel to India in early 2026 will get hands-on experience in satellite design and take part in the launch.
Do you know someone aged 14 to 19 who dreams of space? Encourage them to apply. Anyone outside the age range can still join the Dutch team and help organise activities.
More information and the application form are available on the mission website https://www.shakthisat.org/
