Groundstation.space Launches Sat-Insight Tech Hub to Accelerate Remote Sensing and AI Applications

dotSPACE aims to enhance groundstation.space as an interactive hub for satellite data applications with the launch of its Sat-Insight Tech Hub project. This initiative will strengthen access to Remote Sensing (RS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, connecting the space sector with non-space industries to drive economic growth in South Holland and beyond.
The project was announced during the NL Space Lift-off 2025 event at Space Expo on NL Space Campus, where it was revealed that the Provincie Zuid-Holland will co-invest €1.1 million into two projects supporting the NL Space Campus: the Sat-Insight Tech Hub and the Space Simulator Facility (Stellar Space).
Building on the Success of Groundstation.space

Groundstation.space is a hub that promotes and develops projects utilising satellite data, reaching diverse audiences across Europe with news, insights, and events. The platform offers editorial content, listings for industry events and funding opportunities, and an open repository called ‘Open Atlas’ that contains algorithms and resources for both the space and non-space sectors.
The project Sat-Insight Tech Hub will further enhance the platform by:
- Expanding access to RS and AI technologies, helping businesses integrate satellite data into practical applications.
- Connecting the RS industry with non-space industry clusters, fostering cross-sector collaboration.
- Improving groundstation.space to facilitate greater exchange and commercialization of solutions based on remote sensing (RS) technology.
- Supporting education and training for companies, researchers, and students.
Bridging Space and Non-Space Sectors
With this project, Groundstation.space will play a key role in bringing RS and AI applications to industries such as:
- Maritime Logistics
- Urban Planning & Infrastructure
- Water Management
- Environment & Climate
- Energy
- Agriculture & Horticulture
Strengthening the NL Space Campus
This co-investment between dotSPACE and the Province of South Holland aligns with the broader vision for NL Space Campus as a centre for space technology. The project Sat-Insight Tech Hub aims to reinforce South Holland’s position in the space sector while enabling businesses and researchers to benefit from satellite technology in new ways.
“Through this project, dotSPACE is further strengthening Groundstation.space, which connects the space industry with non-space sectors,” said Joris Krüse, board member of dotSPACE. “By improving access to data and technology, we aim to accelerate the use of satellite insights across industries.”
Next Steps
In the next four years, dotSPACE will execute the project by collaborating with stakeholders across various sectors in space and beyond. Organisations interested in contributing or benefiting from this initiative are encouraged to reach out.
