Connecting Ocean Digital Twins Using Federated System Approaches in ILIAD

The EU-funded ILIAD Digital Twin of the Ocean project initiated a series of webinars and training sessions. These events cover topics ranging from technical to economics and policy. This activity aims to support communication across different disciplines, ease the design process and improve engagement with ILIAD project partners.

The sixth webinar was titled ‘Connecting ocean digital twins using federated system approaches in ILIAD’  and was held online this month.

During the webinar, we explored the concept of using a federated approach to connect digital twins in a system-of-systems environment.

The webinar speakers were Bente Lilja Bye (BLB), Arne-Jørgen Berre (Sintef Digital), Joan Maso (CREAF), Marco Oliveira (INESCTEC), and Conor Delaney (Emodnet). Their presentations introduced us to various topics, from the Concept of a federated system to Green Deal Data spaces.
