The Finnish Satellite Workshop is the biggest New Space meeting in Finland, Scandinavia and the Baltic countries. It brings together space tech specialists, scientists and students to discuss current topics in a rapidly developing space field. The scope is set on New Space, small satellite missions, small satellite platform development, space science missions and instruments, Earth Observation and sustainable utilization of space, not forgetting also about collaboration and politics.
The Finnish Satellite Workshop 2023 is colocated and co-organised with the Finnish Remote Sensing Days and the URSI National Conference.
Finnish Remote Sensing Days
The Finnish Remote Sensing Club represents the community of Remote Sensing specialists and professionals in Finland. Over 25 years, the Finnish Remote Sensing Club has arranged a workshop, called Finnish Remote Sensing Days. The event has brought together specialists all over Scandinavia and Baltic states to discuss the latest advancements in the fields and developing ideas for next space instruments and funding applications. Since 2020 Remote Sensing Days have been organized together with Satellite Workshop.
XXXVI Finnish URSI Convention on Radio Science
The International Union of Radio Science (Union Radio Scientifique Internationale, URSI) was founded in 1919 to stimulate and coordinate international research, applications and communication in the field of radio science. The Finnish National Committee (Member Committee) consists of 15 institutional members, mainly representing universities, research institutes and scientific organizations. The main national event of the Finnish National Committee is the National Convention on Radio Science.
