Standards in Digital Twins of the Ocean

Standards in Digital Twins of the Ocean

The EU-funded ILIAD Digital Twin of the Ocean project initiated a series of webinars and training sessions. These events cover topics ranging from technical to economics and policy. This activity aims to support communication across different disciplines, ease the design process and improve engagement with ILIAD project partners.

The fifth webinar was titled ‘Standards in Digital Twins of the Ocean’ and was held online this month.

During the webinar, we discussed the background and development of standards and how they relate to Digital Twins of the Ocean. The webinar speakers were Bente Lilja Bye (BLB), Sigmund Kluckner (IEEE)б George Percivall (IEEE P2874), Arne Berre (SINTEF), Thomas Huang (NASA, JPL), Piotr Zaborowski (OGC), Georgios Sylaios (DUTH) and Katerina Spanoudaki (FORTH). Their presentations introduced us to various topics, from NASA Digital Twins Project to Standardization in oil spill modelling.
