ROOT is a European project focused on strengthening career guidance and workforce development in the downstream Earth Observation (EO) sector. The project develops and tests practical approaches to support adults in upskilling, reskilling, and navigating career transitions, while helping SMEs and career guidance professionals respond to changing skills needs. Through regional Living Labs, practical tools, and policy-oriented activities, ROOT aims to improve workforce adaptability and develop approaches that can be transferred and scaled across Europe.
dotSPACE Foundation contributes to ROOT through the design and implementation of Living Labs and activities connecting career guidance, skills development, and the Earth Observation sector. Within the project, dotSPACE leads work on integrating existing European and regional digital platforms and tools into ROOT’s activities, and on connecting the Living Lab model with regional and national skills and human capital strategies. dotSPACE also supports the development and testing of the Living Labs, helping translate project results into practical, sustainable approaches for workforce development in the EO sector.
