As part of NL Space Week, Earth Observation Days will be held and organised by NL Space Campus in collaboration with the ITC Faculty of the University of Twente. This series of events aims to underscore the significance of Dutch Earth Observation programs and their impact on society and the economy. The Earth Observation Days will provide a platform for a range of activities designed to enhance awareness and support for Dutch space sector initiatives and Earth Observation technologies.
Earth Observation Days will feature a variety of events that delve into the latest advancements and applications of Earth Observation technology. These events will focus on knowledge sharing, information exchange, and fostering connections between academia, industry, and end-users.
Inspiring the Next Generation and Driving Policy with Satellite Data: Overview of Key Events
The EO Programme Activities for Schools (ESERO) will focus on increasing awareness and interest in Earth Observation among pre-university students. This initiative aims to inspire and educate students about Earth Observation, with activities specifically tailored for schools.
Another important session, Satellite Data for Regional Governments, will enhance the understanding of how satellite data can support policy-making and decision-making at the municipal level. This event will offer practical insights into the applications of satellite data for regional governance.
The central event, EO4IMPACT, will promote knowledge sharing, information exchange, and collaboration between academia, industry, and stakeholders to maximise the impact of EO research and applications. The agenda will include plenary sessions, discussion tables, and networking opportunities with experts and professionals from various fields.
Addressing Environmental and Societal Challenges Through Satellite Technology
The Earth Observation Days will address themes related to leveraging satellite EO-based products and services to tackle environmental and societal challenges. The selected themes reflect government priorities, space ecosystem focus areas, and recent research developments. Presentations will feature contributions from leading academic institutions such as the University of Twente, WUR, TU Delft, and SRON, alongside selected SMEs involved in impactful EO projects.
