EXPANDEO 2026 to focus on security and resilience through Earth Observation
The European Association of Remote Sensing Companies has opened registrations for EXPANDEO 2026, taking place on 10–11 June 2026 in Brussels and online.
As EARSC’s annual gathering, EXPANDEO brings together the European Earth Observation (EO) community to exchange perspectives, share experiences, and discuss the role of EO in current policy and market developments. This year, the discussions will focus on how EO solutions can support a more secure and resilient Europe: from sustainable water and land management, to dual-use applications for defence and civil security, as well as innovation and data ecosystems.

A first set of speakers has already been confirmed:
- Mauro Facchini, Head of Unit – Earth Observation, European Commission (DG DEFIS)
- Giancarlo Granero, Head of Unit – Space Economy, European Commission (DG DEFIS)
- Juliette Lambin, Head of Future Missions and Architecture Department (EOP-F), European Space Agency
- Milan Seghier, Space Policy Officer, European Defence Agency
- Jurij Krajcic, Policy Officer, Land Economy & Carbon Removals, European Commission (DG CLIMA)
- Juan Luis Valero, Head of Brussels Office, European Union Satellite Centre (SatCen)
Further speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.
The preliminary agenda spans two days of sessions and exchanges, covering topics such as defence and civil security, environmental resilience, digital platforms and interoperability, emergency management, and nature-based solutions. The programme will also include the live-pitching of the EARSC Start-Up Award and the EARSC Awards Ceremony, where the winners of all three Awards (Company, Product and Start-Up) will be announced.
EARSC would like to thank its sponsors European Space Imaging, the HARMONY project, the LandShift project and the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem, as well as its media partner GroundStation.Space for supporting the organisation of EXPANDEO 2026.
Join us in Brussels or online to connect with the community and take part in the discussions shaping the EO sector in Europe.
