Are you the kind of founder who’s always looking for ways to make your pitch more powerful? This workshop, led by Viki Pavlic from Masters of Scale, will be a practical session focused on crafting persuasive content for your pitch.
Join this sprint workshop, to learn how to craft clear, concise and convincing 1-minute pitches, supported by your most critical visual.
Part 1: Start in the right direction
Before we start crafting, you’ll define:
- Who’s your audience? (investors, general public, competition jury?)
- What’s your goal? (raise money, get warm introductions, win competitions?)
Part 2: Craft your 30-second core
You’ll first craft the very core of your pitch. You will:
- Clearly frame your customer
- Make your audience care about the problem
- Describe your solution in a few words without being technical
- Make the benefits of your solution strikingly obvious
Part 3: Add your extras
You’ll then craft the most critical “add-ons” for your particular context. You’ll weave those into your core storyline to make your audience go “wow!” For example:
- Humbly brag about your impressive traction
- Tell your personal story, unique insight, reason you care (“the why”)
- Confidently declare how you’re superior or different than your competition
- Pitch the strength of your team
- Wrap up with “the ask” that gets your audience to act
Part 4: Add your magical slide
An image tells a 1000 words. When done right, it’s like magic! You will:
- Pick the part of your story that can get amplified the most with a visual
- Conceptualise the visual you need
- Figure out how to get it – DIY or outsource
The focus of this workshop is not:
- Perfecting your public speaking skills, managing your nerves, etc.
- Building your investor pitch deck
- Creating a sales pitch for your customers; while elements of the pitch we’ll be creating could be reused in a sales pitch, this is not the focus as this requires specific industry knowledge and a good understanding of one’s positioning against competitors – it’s too startup-specific for a workshop with mixed startups

Viki Pavlic is a master at Masters of Scale. He helps startups raise money by helping them get their “wow” across through investor-centred storytelling and visualisation. He has 10 years of experience giving pitching and pitch deck workshops for accelerators and universities, doing 1:1 consulting and building pitch decks.
