NL Space Campus invites you to the groundbreaking ceremony of the CometLab: the new digital manufacturing lab and collaboration platform at the heart of the NL Space Campus in Noordwijk.

This innovative facility will serve as a hub for creativity and development, providing cutting-edge digital design tools, space-related equipment, and open-source technologies to foster new ideas in the space sector. Companies, researchers, engineers, and students will have the opportunity to collaborate, develop new research, and create groundbreaking products and services. CometLab is dedicated to early-stage concept studies, low Technology Readiness Level (TRL) projects, and educational and training purposes, offering a dynamic environment to connect with various stakeholders and explore opportunities in a vibrant space ecosystem. The NL PhiLab will be housed in the CometLab as well.

The facilities are expected to be ready for use in the second quarter of next year.

About Cometlab

A new digital manufacturing lab and collaboration platform for the space industry at the heart of NL Space Campus in Noordwijk. By providing cutting-edge digital design tools, space-related equipment, and open-source technologies, it is a breeding ground for innovative ideas that companies, researchers/engineers, and students can use to develop new research activities, products, and services for the space sector. It is a place to collaborate and partner up with a variety of stakeholders on campus. Within the diverse space ecosystem, there are opportunities for larger-scale manufacturing and specialized applications. The lab is dedicated primarily to early phase concept studies, low TRL projects and educational/training purposes.

Groundbreaking Ceremony​

The groundbreaking ceremony will be performed by a selection of dignitaries from ESA, Provincie Zuid-Holland and Gemeente Noordwijk on 2 October at 9.30h. Join us to witness the beginning of a new era of innovation and collaboration in the space industry!
