OPT/NET BV will power the Netherlands CASSINI Hackathon with its ARGUS MONITORED AI platform, supported by AWS

OPT/NET B.V. to Power CASSINI Hackathon Netherlands with ARGUS MONITORED AI – curated EO Data access and processing Platform, developed with support from AWS

OPT/NET B.V., a leader in AI-driven geospatial and data analytics solutions, is proud to announce its role as the official platform provider for the upcoming CASSINI Hackathon in the Netherlands on November 22. AWS is providing credits to support OPT/NET’s development of a seamless environment for the Hackathon which will leverage OPT/NET’s ARGUS MONITORED AI platform. This purpose-built environment will enable Hackathon participants to develop impactful solutions for complex space and defense challenges, leveraging European space data and infrastructure to create innovative solutions addressing real-world defense and security needs.

The ARGUS MONITORED AI platform is designed to tackle critical tasks such as finding and accessing curated earth observation (EO) data, and facilitates the development of wide variety of space applications for change detection, environmental impact assessments, natural disaster monitoring, infrastructure management, and resource conservation among others. Participants will have access to the EO data via ARGUS MONITORED AI, and will be able to leverage advanced data processing tools, running on AWS. The creativity of hackathon participants is the only limit!

The CASSINI Hackathon consists of three main challenges: Enhancing Defense & Security with Geospatial Intelligence, Unmanned Drone Applications for Defense & Security Operations, and Orbital Security: Navigating the Collision Frontier. Contestants will be able to leverage OPT/NET’s geospatial platform capabilities with AWS to achieve a rapid development of their solutions, working to address complex problems efficiently.

Challenge Highlights:

  1. Enhancing Defense & Security with Geospatial Intelligence – Participants will develop solutions using geospatial data to enhance decision-making across defense, humanitarian aid, and security surveillance. This includes optimizing resources for disaster relief, improving defense missions, and addressing cybersecurity risks in earth observation systems.
  2. Unmanned Drone Applications for Defense & Security Operations – This challenge focuses on developing drone-based solutions for real-time data collection and emergency response, ensuring data integrity, and enhancing security for defense and civil protection.
  3. Orbital Security: Navigating the Collision Frontier – In this challenge, participants will work on space situational awareness by analyzing conjunction data messages (CDMs) to assess collision risks in space, helping to enhance satellite safety and mitigate debris threats.
